Willie Wartaal enters theaters with a 'Mother's Day' performance.

Mother's Day is the first solo theatre show of the successful rapper, DJ, presenter, actor, producer and songwriter.

Willie Wartaal was instantly firmly on the Dutch music map in 2005 when he released the successful debut single "Watskeburt?!" with De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig.

In the following years, he released several successful singles and albums, both solo and with 'De Jeugd', collectively selling over 350,000 copies. De Jeugd's last tour ended in 2019 in a sold-out Olympic Stadium in Amsterdam, accompanied by 23,000 fans who sang along loudly to hits like 'Sterrenstof', 'De Formule', 'Get Spanish', and 'Hollereer'.

After seventeen years of selling out pop venues, playing festivals, and clubs, Willie is taking on a solo stage for the first time. "Mother's Day" is a program filled with funny and serious stories about his life, his difficult childhood, music, having a drug-addicted mother, and the life lessons he learned from it.

“An evening in the head of Willie Wartaal, who wouldn't want that?”, says the versatile artist himself.
