ANNE FAY

Anne-Fay is a versatile singer, performer and creator who powerfully blends music, dance and storytelling. Her work lies at the intersection of pop, soul and performance, with a strong focus on content.

In 2021, she released the critically acclaimed album Reaspora, in which she explores her Surinamese roots and bicultural identity. Together with her brother, filmmaker Felix Kops, she travelled through their family’s diaspora, a personal quest that formed the basis for the project.

On stage, Anne-Fay is an outspoken and energetic performer. As a member of ZO! Gospel Choir and frontwoman of Cookachoo, she has performed at leading festivals and venues, including Lowlands, Mysteryland, Eurosonic/Noorderslag and international events such as Paris Fashion Week and Milkshake Festival São Paulo. She has shared the stage with artists such as Kamasi Washington, Oleta Adams, Typhoon and Zwart Licht.

With her new album +1 (release: 10 May), Anne-Fay is opening a new chapter. In it, she explores motherhood and the way in which identity is reshaped. Raw ballads and raw beats, with a unique and powerful perspective, she shows that nothing is as radical and transformative as ‘momhood’.
