THE LIGHTHOUSE

"Songs that feel like Fridays" : that's how the Leuven-based group describes their music. According to The Lighthouse, Fridays, or rather Friday nights, are meant for carefree immersion. This can be achieved with both driving beats and catchy lyrics and an intoxicating layering of guitar and synths, which at times feels almost mysterious.

The Lighthouse's recipe proves successful and a long list of many highlights follows: winner of 'De Nieuwe Lichting 2017', more than 200 shows at home and abroad (including AB, Pukkelpop, Het Depot, Melkweg (NL), Maanrock, Suikerrock, Crammerock and even the Sziget Festival in Budapest) and airplay on Studio Brussel, MNM, Radio 2, PURE FM, Willy, KINK (NL), 3FM (NL), etc.

After the release of the 2017 'Joyride' EP and their debut album "Whatever Comes Our Way" in late 2019 – which together generated nearly 3.5 million Spotify streams – the group went in search of a new frontman. They found this in multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Willem Zelck, and it's safe to say they're a perfect match and a breath of fresh air.

The result? An inspiring new EP called "Photoshopped Postcards," whose title track becomes the live highlight of the set. The band pushes the boundaries of their sound while remaining unmistakably pop. The latest single, "Pretty Girls," also showcases this. The Lighthouse is certainly ready to take the stage with their old hits and a slew of new songs.
