MULA B

The Hague's Mula B (1991) has made an undeniable contribution to the formation of Dutch hip-hop with his repertoire and is seen in 2025 as a true pioneer within the Dutch music landscape.

With his label and collective Wilde Westen, Mula B was one of the first to introduce the trap genre to the Netherlands. His mixtape D&G (2016, in collaboration with LouiVos) achieved cult status and remains a defining album in the Dutch hip-hop scene. With the four studio albums that followed and multi-platinum hits like Bandolero, Fully Fendi, and Faktap Broeder, Mula B proved his lasting impact. Collaborations with artists like S10, Frenna, Goldband, Sticks, and Lijpe further demonstrated his versatility without ever compromising on authenticity and originality.

His latest album, Narcopop, released in 2023, was praised by various media outlets as the Best Dutch-Language Hip-Hop Album of that year. In 2024, Narcopop was awarded an Edison Award for what the jury described as a "groundbreaking album."

A sold-out tour followed, along with a triumphant run at leading festivals like Best Kept Secret, Wildeburg, and Into The Great Wide Open. There, he proved that his blend of trap, indie, and electronica resonates with a wide audience, and his stage presence makes him one of the most pressing festival acts of the moment.

In early 2025, he was also named winner of the prestigious Pop Stipendium from Het Cultuurfonds, a recognition of his continued development as a serious pop artist. He also finished third in the Noorderslag 2025 Top 25, according to 3voor12, who described the show as "Trap theatre at the highest level."
