Postmen is a Sound

Postmen was created by rapper, writer, and producer Remon Stotijn, aka The Anonymous Mis. His first album was released through his production company and record label, Social Life Music. In the studio and on stage, Stotijn always collaborates with the best musicians.

Postmen released the successful album "Documents" at the end of the 1990s, which spawned a wave of major hits. "Documents" was the first hip-hop/reggae album to achieve platinum status in the Netherlands, thanks to the singles "Cocktail," "Crisis," and "U Wait," featuring singer/rapper Michael Parkinson aka Shyrock and drummer/DJ Gus Bear aka G-Boah. The sound dominated the charts, and "Documents" became a cultural phenomenon.

Since 1998, Stotijn has released 7 studio albums. He is known for his characteristic sound, with catchy melodies, original bass lines and positive energy. Stotijn has also produced and written for various artists in different genres, including Def Rhymz 'De Bom' (1999), E-Life 'In Doubt '99' (1999), Morgan Heritage 'Our World' (2001), Anouk 'Jerusalem' (2004), 'Good God' (2007), Bergit Lewis 'Let Me See You Move' (2007), Gers Pardoel & Doe Maar 'Liever Dan Lief' (2012).

Postmen has been seen at all major festivals, both domestically and internationally. His sound has earned him numerous awards in the Dutch music industry, including the Grote Popprijs (Grand Pop Prize) and a Gouden Harp (Golden Harp). He is considered one of the most important figures in establishing hip-hop and reggae culture in the Netherlands.

In 2018, the Postmen sound celebrates its 20th anniversary. This is being celebrated with the release of Stotijn's first music project in seven years, called Love Me or Love Me Not.
